
Solid Performances Lead TCU Past UTEP

Hogan matches career-high aggregate score
EL PASO – TCU returned to the rifle range Sunday morning and turned in a solid performance in a 4,730-4,706 win at UTEP. Three Horned Frogs set season highs in both smallbore and air rifle.
TCU topped UTEP in smallbore, 2,347-2,325. In air rifle, the Frogs beat UTEP 2,383-2,381.
The Frogs had six of the top 10 shooters in the match. Katie Zaun led all shooters with a season-high aggregate mark of 1,191. Mikole Hogan matched her career-high with an aggregate of 1,188. Alexandra Rosenlew rounded out the top three with a career-high 1,186. Marissa Fedora finished seventh with an aggregate of 1,177. Christina Hillinger matched her season-high aggregate with 1,175 to finish eighth. Rylie Passmore's 1,174 was ninth.
In smallbore, TCU fired four of the top five scores. Zaun's season-best 594 was tops among shooters. Hogan turned in a season-high 591and Rosenlew matched her career-high with a 590. Fedora's 582 contributed to the final team score.
Four Frogs fired season highs in air rifle. Zaun led the field of shooters with a season-high 597 which was matched by Hogan. Rosenlew shot a career-high 596. Mackenzie Kring and Fedora's identical marks of 595 contributed to the team score.
Also shooting were Hillinger, who matched her season-high with a 594. Passmore shot a 593 and in her season debut, Ziva Swick fired a 591.
UTEP was led by Kameron Wells who finished fourth with an aggregate of 1,178. Wells also led the squad with a 597 in air rifle. Roxanne Keel's 582 in smallbore paced the Miners.
TCU returns to action next weekend for a pair of matches in Colorado Springs. The Frogs will shoot at Air Force on Saturday against the host school, Alaska and Georgia Southern. On Sunday, TCU will head to the range at the USOTC for a triangular match against Alaska and Georgia Southern.
