ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 11 TCU is back on the road for one match this week, traveling to Orlando, Florida, to take on UCF on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. CT. It marks the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools.
TCU NOTABLES
• After a 2-0 week in Big 12 action that featured a ranked win over No. 18 Kansas, TCU checked in at No. 11 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Coaches Poll.
• The Frogs have won a program record and Big 12-leading six matches against top-25 teams this season. Further, TCU is one of four teams nationally to have at least six victories over ranked opponents.
• Sophomores Evan Hendrix and Becca Kelley were added to the watch list for the 2025 AVCA Player of the Year Award, which features 47 student-athletes.
• Hendrix and Kelley were lights out last week, hitting a combined .430 with a total of 67 kills over two matches played (nine errors on 135 attempts).
• Just over the halfway mark in their season, the Frogs (13-3) are off to their best start since 2011 (15-1).
• Sarah Sylvester is one of 14 active players in NCAA D1 Volleyball with 400 career blocks. She ranks third on TCU's all-time blocks list with 410.0.
ALL EYES ON THE FROGS
• After leading TCU to one of its best starts to a season in program history, sophomores Evan Hendrix and Becca Kelley were added to the watch list for the AVCA's 2025 Division I Player of the Year Award presented by Nike Volleyball.
• The original list includes 30 players from 20 schools, featuring some of the top talent in the nation. A total of 17 student-athletes are being added by the AVCA at the halfway point of the season, which includes the Horned Frog duo.
• They join Melanie Parra (2024 semifinalist for the award) as the only TCU student-athletes to ever be named to the watch list.
YOU'RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE
• With the offense firing on all cylinders, No. 12 TCU dominated No. 18 Kansas 3-1 on its home court.
• The Horned Frogs hit a season-high .352 behind setters Rosemary Archer and Ella Foti.
• TCU led the entire first and fourth sets, never trailing Kansas.
• In set two, the Frogs were only down for five points, and in the third, Archer nearly led a comeback with a 4-0 run at the service line at KU set point.
20/20 VISION
• Sophomores Becca Kelley and Evan Hendrix led the TCU attack with 21 and 20 kills, respectively, in the Frogs' win over No. 18 Kansas.
• For Kelley, it marked a career-high, topping the 19 she totaled against Cincinnati last season.
• Hendrix finished with a double-double, racking up 13 digs, but the most impressive part of her night was her efficiency. The Scottsdale, Arizona, product hit at a blistering .526 clip with no errors on 38 swings.
• In TCU history, there have only been 12 instances where two teammates finished with 20+ kills in the same match.
• The last time it happened was last season against Cincinnati (10/19/24) when Parra (22) and Gibson (21) recorded the feat.
